Beastcoast vs. TSM Upset in Rainbow Six

9/24/2023

Who was prepared for such a major upset so early on in the League? While Beastcoast is most certainly celebrating their victory, TSM and the entire NAL fanbase are stunned. It is safe to say that nobody was prepared for the outcome of Beastcoast vs. TSM.

Beastcoast stunned TSM in a singular match in Rainbow Six Siege's updated NAL, overcoming the odds and beating them 7-3. Beastcoast had to fight out various tight rounds and experienced some close calls along the journey, so the victory was not an easy one for them. Individually, Joseph "Phozzo" Eisenmann and Charlie “rooty” Tran delivered outstanding performances.

TSM won the NAL Finals in 2020 and is a clear favorite for the 2021 Six Invitational; the organizers recently rescheduled this for May. TSM is widely regarded as one of the top groups globally, and many North American fans believe TSM is the best team across the globe. Beastcoast, which nobody thought stood a chance against TSM, is a newcomer to the NAL from the NACL, R6's second tier.

While this result could signal the beginning of a "shift in power," it is too soon in the NAL to determine if any group can try to overturn the best teams in the long run. TSM has an impressive roster of high-quality talent, despite making a few uncharacteristic errors.

TSM had to readjust and equip their squad for a heated rivalry with XSET that took place March 31, while Beastcoast was on a break. Hence, TSM needs to quickly readjust its' strategy so that it can bounce back. However, Beastcoast has been given the time to let their win sink in and come to terms with the shock they have caused. Do you think they can keep it up for the rest of the League, or do you think they simply got lucky?

The Final Verdict

It is evident that the results of this game came as a shock to many as the majority of the predictions were in the favor of TSM. These results go to show that anything can happen, and you cannot underestimate the ability of a new team. This stage of the League emphasized the unpredictability and suspense of the gaming industry and set the tone for the remainder of the League.
