Rocket League Changes 2020 Autumn

9/24/2023

For fans of this high-octane game that mixes soccer and flying cars, Rocket League players can expect to see changes coming to the game. Players who are familiar with Rocket League may not see or even notice the changes. Those who have been on the fence about this unique game are sure to notice these changes.

The game is going to be getting an update that is going to result in a mix of major and minor updates.

What Are the Changes?

Changes in Rocket League that players can expect to see include:

Aesthetics - Customize your car with new decals and designs. Not only are there new designs you can choose from to update your vehicle, but players can find new wheels and rims too.

Blueprints - Players at the end of the game can now have a chance to win blueprints to limited edition items. This can include new types of explosions when a shot on goal is made.

Challenges - New players to Rocket League can look forward to new challenges that existing players don't have access to.

Patch 1.85 - Thanks to the upcoming changes to Rocket League, players can expect to see significant improvements to their gameplay. When a player decides to leave a match, a Bot typically replaces them until a new human player joins or the match ends.

FREE - Thanks to the recent changes and updates to Rocket League, the game has become free to players for a limited time. This means players can enjoy all the perks of a full paying version of Rocket League.

To existing Rocket League players, these changes may be minor; however, they improve the user experience and continual gameplay.

Why They Matter

Regardless of the type of game, improvements can help make for better gameplay for players. Rocket League changes are quite significant from a tournament perspective; for example, when a player leaves, rather than disrupt the whole game, an AI comes in as a sub. This ensures the game continues, and experience points are not lost.

Halloween Special

To mark Halloween, Rocket League is launching special Ghostbuster themed vehicles. This means you can customize your vehicle before a match by adding icons at the top of the car, changing the car's overall color.

Alongside the limited version Halloween themed decals, Rocket League is also offering two-game Halloween themed challenges, a Haunted Heatseeker and Spike Rush.

Freeplay with Epic Games

For the most part, Rocket League has become popular on various platforms, from Xbox to Playstation and Nintendo. Since acquiring Psyonix, the original Rocket League developer, they have made this fun and fast-paced game accessible for all.

If you aren't sure whether or not the idea of flying cars and trucks playing soccer is your cup of tea, consider giving Rocket League a shot. Take advantage of this opportunity to play for free on any of your consoles. Thanks to Epic Games, who is hoping that this move of making it accessible to everyone is going to help increase the pool of players.
