TFT Galaxies Explained

9/24/2023

True to the ever-evolving nature of its publisher, Teamfight Tactics continues to grow and grow every month. The most recent iteration of this is the galaxies mechanic.

It is something of a unique addition to the game that is hit or miss, depending on the type of player you ask.

Essentially, it introduces the chance of a random modifier being introduced to the match. While this can keep the game fun and refreshing, it can also add another element of luck to the game, which is something that a lot of competitive players revile.

As it stands, there are seven galaxies, which is to say there are seven modifiers, that can be applied to your game at random. Each galaxy has its own percent chance of popping up, with some more likely than others.

The game isn’t going to give you some pop-up notification when you do have a galaxy modifier active. Instead, you have to check every match for yourself.

In the top left corner of your screen, next to the stage, there is an icon that you can hover over. This is what galaxy is active, each with its own unique profile image. If there is no galaxy active, then there isn’t going to be any icon visible.

TFT – What Galaxies are There?

As we mentioned, there are seven galaxies currently in the game as of August 2020, although it’s likely that more are going to be added in overtime.

  • The Neekoverse

The Neekoverse galaxy gives every player in the match two Neeko’s help on their bench. For those unfamiliar with the ability, you can use it on a champion, and it’s going to pull a one-star copy of it onto the bench.

  • The Lilac Nebula

The Lilac Nebula modifier is simple. When you load up the game, instead of the typical carousel, it’s going to be full of four-cost units.

  • Medium Legends

When this galaxy is active, all little legends become larger and have plus 25 health.

  • Trade Sector

The trade sector gives each player a free re-roll every round. This is going to save you a surprising amount of gold, giving you a lot more wiggle room to work with.

  • Superdense Galaxy

The superdense galaxy modifier gives you a free force of nature at level five, which allows you to fill out your composition more quickly.

  • Galactic Armory

This galaxy gives every player two random completed objects at the start of the game. The object that each player receives is the same, to not make it unfair. All this does is give the game an early power spike, which everyone still on the same level playing field.

  • Treasure Trove

In this modifier, all minions and monsters drop a loot orb, which drastically speeds up the gameplay.

  • Star Cluster

The star cluster galaxy is going to give you higher valued units on the carousel.

  • Little Little Legends

The little little legends galaxy makes all of your little legends smaller, faster, and limits their health to just 85.

  • Binary Star

In this final galaxy, champions can only equip two items.

Conclusion

Now, with each TFT galaxy explained, it may be easier for players to understand the differences and the bonuses that come with each level. However, we only scratched the surface of what is possible in each of the galaxies.
