For the majority of players in League of
Legends, it goes without saying that there’s a stigma against utilizing a
booster (or, to a lesser extent, a coach) when trying to obtain a higher rank.
Opinions might vary depending on who you ask.
That being said, to the few who’ve earned their rank by virtue of their own
skill, we’ll take a look at how one might go about achieving the job of
boosting or coaching others to their desired rank.
Boosting, simply defined, is the process where
online players of a high caliber of skill use their ranks and subsequent game
knowledge to help lower ranking players increase their rank. One important
distinction to make is that boosters do this by directly controlling the
account in question.
It contrasts quite starkly from being a coach;
similar to a career coach, coaches in League of Legends aim
to succeed the same result in helping players achieve higher ranks, but they do
so by granting knowledge and strategies outside of influencing the player’s
account.
For some, this method is more ethical and
allowed by the Summoner’s Code, but tends to be only effective depending on the
player actualizing any new-found knowledge they obtain.
If you’re looking to boost over being a coach,
there are a couple different options that you have.
The first of which is direct elo boosting: In
this form of boosting, you’ll gain access directly to the player’s account, and
all you’re responsible for is winning games on their account for them.
To the boostee, this method of boosting
requires a great deal of trust, since this enables you to use their account.
That being said, this is often not the mode that most players want to opt into,
and thus the second option you have is what you’ll combine it with: duo
boosting.
In duo boosting, players of the lower rank
will get to play on their account and instead of playing on their account,
you’ll take on the role of playing on another account and duoing with the other
lower ranking player.
This method of boosting is more efficient
since it enables you to potentially earn wins for two accounts at the same
time. However, with duo boosting, you tend to have to charge a higher rate for
the wins/time that you promise the player, since the commitment level is
higher.
To put it simply, duo boosting enables you to
earn LP, increase MMR, and promote divisions/tiers for multiple accounts and
thus should be done whenever possible to maximize earnings on your side.
Websites, such as Bettergamer
offer League of Legends Coaching with the ability to duo queue at the same time
to truly get the best of both!
