Mark Yetter, a game developer for League of Legends, is looking forward to patch 11.8 since it should have "broadening enchanter pieces" as well as more characters in the jungle.
Another round of new champs is being added to the jungle pool, according to the Riot dev squad, including Darius, Mordekaiser, and Morgana, as well as regular mid-lane stars Diana and Zed. This should be accompanied by a change to move a few champions who have dropped out of their player base's favorite positions. The character Gwen should also officially be released this week. Riot is also going to release about half a dozen brand new skins, including some Dragonslayer skins as well as Blackfrost skins that can be used by Vel’Koz and Sion.
What is Coming in the Patch?
Isolde, Viego's wife, was rumored to be the newest champion to join League of Legends. We should be having Gwen, one of her creations, instead.
Every moment of Gwen's life is precious to her, and she acts with intention. She wanders through Runeterra, isolated from Isolde, in search of those who are hurting or suffering. “Tragedy tore them apart, and the doll sank under the waves of sorrow. Centuries went by. The doll was unfazed; she was certain that love would find her again.”
Gwen is currently available on the LoL PBE test servers.
Other champions in League Season 11 could be revamped to get them up to date, according to Riot. Rammus is at the top of the list, with the jungler due to get some new wheels in 2021.
The mobile clone Wild Rift gave LoL players their first taste of the Rammus rework. Leroy ‘Sirhaian' Kevin has been working on a gameplay update, which includes changes to Rammus' skins and equipment.
The most significant shift is in his ultimate. Rammus' ultimate attack, now known as Soaring Slam, gets some hang time before crashing back down and causing tremors. This more mobile engage opportunity has the potential to reintroduce the tank into the meta of the game.
For a long time, Riot has been playing with League's jungle and the champions who fill it.
They worked to make the jungle more "appealing" in Season 10 by increasing champion diversity. The updates, however, fell flat or did not make it to live servers. They're trying again in Season 11 to make this work. In League patch 11.8, Riot is looking to transfer five champions from the lane to the jungle: Darius, Diana, Mordekaiser, Morgana, and Zed.
The Bottom Line
The new patch being introduced into the game should most certainly reinvigorate some of the fan base. The addition of a new character Gwen, as well as the refurbishing of some old characters, could really introduce some new elements and ways to play into the game. Overall, we are excited to see exactly how this patch changes the game and the meta. Only time can tell how effective these changes are going to be. They do all sound pretty promising, and we think they should have a positive impact on the game.
